The Artist

As cliche as it may sound, sometimes you just know that you are meant to do something, it just feels right. And as unoriginal as it may sound, it takes time and lots of trial and error to realize that there is not ever the “right time” to start, for time, doesn’t slow down. Because of that, “my” art, my “style”, may not be as refined as other more prominent, popular and established artists, but that is okay, because it is time to start this journey. One thing that is true throughout all my art though is the love of color, and the continued journey to better understand its unique language. It may start with a picture or sketch (as most artists do), and then it turns into an unconscious response to create something new, a response that loses itself in time, until time reminds you it has passed. It is not intended to be a copy of an image, but a an emotional and subconscious response relayed through color and brush on a canvas.

It started when I was a young boy, when my mum would keep me quiet and well behaved by providing me a piece of paper and crayons or colored pencils. It was then put on hold as I studied and worked in more “traditional” fields trying to pursue a more “normal” means of self development. And then the fire was rekindled when taking one out of the two painting classes I have ever taken in college, while working on finding myself again after squandering an opportunity and some deep soul searching. That fire has continued to grow and spread, with the flame providing the energy to pursue a passion that is innate in its origins, and one that will hopefully lead to the blossoming of a revolutionary art business - a place where all artists can find a home and representation, regardless of where they are from, or what schooling or lack thereof they have had, a place where art not only promotes sustainability but originates from it, and one where social justice and equality are pursued and celebrated.

Color is the language of art. Welcome to color without boundaries.
