I was born in Mexico City, and although I was raised in Tokyo, Japan & did my schooling in the USA, I have always been proud to be Mexican. Particularly and because of my mum and how passionate she is and the traditions she taught us, even while living overseas. I fondly recall the danza folklorica Mexicana videos we’d watch and when invited by the Embassy, going to the cultural demonstrations while abroad. This painting came about as I discovered a female owned local cafe - La Finca - in Cudahy, WI (Milwaukee area), with roots to Mexico and was inspired by their authentic Mexican decorations, as well as all of the great food I’ve eaten there, and wonderful coffee drinks as well. The original painting was created as a gifted to the cafe as a thank you for all of the great and positive service they are providing the local community.

Although the original was not for sale, you can take a copy of it with you by ordering a professional grade print!
